Yahoo Mail (web)

Step 1

Open More Settings

Click the gear icon in the upper right of Yahoo Mail, then click More Settings at the bottom of the panel that slides out.

Step 2

Go to Writing email

Select Writing email in the left sidebar. The Signature section appears on the right, with one entry for each connected email account.

Step 3

Turn the signature toggle on

Flip the switch next to the account you want to update. A rich text editor appears below it as soon as the toggle is on.

Step 4

Paste your signature

Copy the rendered signature from your generator's preview and paste it into the box. Yahoo keeps inline styling, links, and hosted images. Edits save automatically as you type.

Step 5

Send a test message

Close settings, click Compose, and confirm the signature sits at the bottom of the draft. Send it to yourself and check it on a phone as well as a desktop.

Re: Yahoo Mail app (iOS & Android)

Yahoo Mail app (iOS & Android)

Step 1

Open the app settings

Tap your profile icon in the top left corner of the app, then tap Settings in the menu.

Step 2

Find the signature option

Scroll to the Signatures entry. The exact wording shifts slightly between app versions, so look for anything labeled signature.

Step 3

Replace the default line

Delete 'Sent from Yahoo Mail' and type your name, title, and one contact detail. The app signature is text based, so keep it short.

Step 4

Repeat for other accounts

If you send from more than one address in the app, check whether each account has its own signature entry and update them all.

Re: Doing it well

Tips for Yahoo Mail signatures

Get the best results when setting up your email signature.

Look under More Settings
The first settings panel in Yahoo Mail only covers themes and inbox layout. The signature editor lives behind the More Settings link at the bottom of that panel, under Writing email.
One toggle per account
If you send from several addresses through Yahoo, enable and edit a signature for each one individually. There is no single global signature that covers every connected mailbox.
Trust the autosave
Yahoo stores signature edits as you make them, which surprises people who expect a confirmation button. Close settings, open a new compose window, and your latest version should already be in place.
Images need public URLs
The Yahoo signature editor has no upload button. A pasted signature displays images only when they load from public HTTPS addresses, so use a design with externally hosted graphics.
Avoid basic Mail for editing
If your browser is running the lightweight basic version of Yahoo Mail, the signature options are limited to plain text. Switch back to the full version to paste and keep rich formatting.

Re: Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Yahoo Mail email signatures.

Where is the signature setting in Yahoo Mail?+

Click the gear icon in the top right, choose More Settings, then Writing email. The Signature section lists each of your connected accounts with its own on/off toggle and a rich text editor underneath.

Does Yahoo Mail support HTML signatures?+

The web editor accepts rich formatted content. Paste a rendered signature and Yahoo preserves the inline styles, links, and hosted images. There is no markup view, so copy the visual preview from your generator instead of the code.

Why is there no Save button for my Yahoo signature?+

Yahoo Mail saves signature changes automatically while you edit. If a change does not seem to stick, refresh the page, reopen More Settings, and confirm the toggle for that account is still switched on.

How do I change the signature in the Yahoo Mail app?+

Tap your profile icon, open Settings, and look for the Signatures entry. The app keeps its own plain text signature, separate from the web version, and it defaults to 'Sent from Yahoo Mail' until you replace it.

Can I add a logo to my Yahoo Mail signature?+

Yes. Use a design that references a logo hosted at a public HTTPS URL, then paste it into the web editor. Any generator that hosts images works, including BrandFooter's free one, and keeping the file under 200KB helps it load quickly.

Why does my Yahoo signature look different in Outlook?+

Every email client renders HTML its own way, and Outlook's desktop engine is the strictest of the bunch. A table-based signature with inline styles survives the trip best, so test by sending from Yahoo to an Outlook address before settling on a design.
