Add a rich email signature in Proton Mail under Settings > Identity and addresses, and learn what it takes to remove the default Proton footer.
Create your signatureRe: Proton Mail (web)
Step 1
Click the gear icon in the top right of Proton Mail and choose All settings to open the full settings area.
Step 2
Select Identity and addresses in the left sidebar. You will see the display name and a signature editor for the selected address.
Step 3
If your plan includes multiple addresses or aliases, choose the one you want from the address selector first. Signatures are stored per address, so each alias can carry its own sign-off.
Step 4
Copy the rendered signature from your generator's preview and paste it into the editor. Proton keeps the inline styles and table layout, and the toolbar handles small text tweaks afterward.
Step 5
Save the change, then send a message to an outside address like Gmail. Checking in a different client shows you exactly what recipients see, including the Proton footer if you are on the free plan.
Re: Proton Mail apps (iOS & Android)
Step 1
Tap the menu button in the Proton Mail app, choose Settings, and select the account you want to adjust.
Step 2
The apps expose a per-account signature setting. Edits made here apply to messages you compose on that device, so keep it consistent with the web version.
Step 3
The apps also append their own line, such as 'Sent from Proton Mail for iOS'. Look for a mobile footer setting to edit or turn it off. On free accounts this footer may not be editable.

Re: Common questions
Common questions about Proton Mail email signatures.
Click the gear icon, choose All settings, then open Identity and addresses. Each address has its own signature editor there, along with the display name shown on your outgoing mail.
Yes. The signature editor in Identity and addresses keeps pasted rich content intact, including table layouts, inline styles, and linked images. Paste the rendered preview from your generator rather than pasting source code into the field.
That line is a promotional footer on free accounts and cannot be switched off at that tier. Upgrading to a paid Proton plan removes it, after which your own signature stands alone at the bottom of your messages.
The iOS and Android apps have per-account signature settings, and they add their own mobile footer such as 'Sent from Proton Mail for Android'. Check the app settings for both options, and note that free accounts may not be able to edit the mobile footer.
Yes, as long as the logo is hosted at a public HTTPS URL. Paste HTML from any generator, including BrandFooter's free one, and the image reference comes along with it. Remember that some recipients block remote images until they choose to load them.
Yes. Signatures in Proton Mail are stored per address, so a work alias, a support alias, and a personal address can each carry a different design. Select the address in Identity and addresses and edit its signature separately.
